Founder Niki Clarke has a background in design and has most recently worked in PR and Marketing for ethical retail brands People Tree and EcoCentric. These brands present ethical and sustainable without compromising on style, for fashion and homewares.

Niki’s idea for Wedding Notebook was born after planning her own wedding. It was important for Niki and her husband that their new home be stylish, but done in the most ethical and sustainable way. Thus they had 4 manual gift lists with small ethical retailers, which was pretty difficult to manage - if only there was a way of managing it quickly and easily online...

Department stores started the ‘gift list’ as a way to ensure all the gifts for a couple come from their store. Gift lists tied to one store have become the norm, leaving smaller retailers out as the gift list systems are so expensive to buy and run. Independent designers and small retailers, who offer unique and high quality items, are so often overlooked as there is no way for them to be added to a gift list. We hope that Wedding Notebook will change all that, giving you the freedom to add whatever you want to your gift list.
