Over the water in California, Courtney & Scott created a simply idyllic beach wedding filled with personal touches. We love the cheery bright yellow highlights scattered throughout the day in the Courtney's bouquet, the carpet of flowers she walked on to the ceremony, and around the reception. The day was captured by UK based photographer Jemma from Pearl Pictures

Courtney lived in Alaska while planning her California wedding, so a lot of the planning was done over the internet. It was important for the couple that the day was personal and incorporated stylish eco touches. Her gorgeous dress was handmade from organic hemp and silk and ordered over the internet. The wedding took place on the beach, with an outdoor reception with mainly handmade decorations. Courtney tells us more...
"Stinson Beach was where I had been living when I was teaching preschool and a place my family had visited for many years growing up. It was not too far for friends and family to travel. We had a simple ceremony performed by Scott's uncle, no bridesmaids or groomsmen. Everyone walked from the cermony down the beach to the reception location.
We had a minimal amount of flowers at the wedding by having the reception in a beautiful garden. The arch we used for the ceremony was recycled by the florists. We had catering from a local company using all seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, including locally raised pig.
The rehersal dinner was prepared by friends and consisted of fish caught by uncle and cousin and local fruits and veggies selected from the farmer's market the day before. Most of the guests stayed in shared rental housing on the beach and in a local hotel that uses natural products"
